Malayalam superstar Mohanlal’s highly-anticipated film Alone, touted-to-be a thriller marks the team up of the legendary star with director Shaji Kailas after a 12 year long gap.
The actor-director duo had earlier worked in movies like “Narasimham”, “Natturajavu”, “Baba Kalyani” and “Red Chillies”. The film was announced on October 5, 2021 and the team wrapped the shoot for it in just 18 days and Called it a wrap on October 22.
Alone Star Cast
The high-voltage action thriller stars the legendary superstar in a major male lead role and the film is said to be a single character or single setting thriller. The actor has many projects in the pipeline for this year and out of them comedy drama Bro Daddy and action thriller Aaraattu have already been released.
Also, his recent release is a mystery thriller film “12th Man” that has a direct to OTT release on May 13, 2022 on Disney+Hotstar. The actor has also started dubbing for “Alone”, in the midst of the shoot of his debut directorial Barroz.
Along with Mohanlal, the film also stars Kriti Kharbanda in the pivotal role and with this action thriller, the actress is making her debut in Malayalam cinema. She was last seen alongside Vikrant Massey in social comedy drama 14 Phere, which was released on Zee5 in July last year. Superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran, whose last collaboration with Mohanlal was Bro Daddy, has a voice role in this film.
Alone Makers
The Mohanlal starrer is scripted by Rajesh Jayaraman, best known for his work in film Bhagyadevatha, Sound of Boot, Time, Moonamathora and Achuvinte Amma. Alone is bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas and it is the 30th production venture of the production house.
Santhosh Raman is serving as the production designer in the film. On the technical front, the film has roped in Abhinandhan Ramanujam as the director of photography while Don Max is handling the editing work. The film has music and background score by Jakes Bejoy.
Alone Teaser Out
The makers of the film revealed the most awaited teaser of the film on Saturday, May 21, 2022, on the occasion of the 60th birthday of the National award winning actor and main lead of the film Mohanlal.
The 45-second long teaser of the film shows Mohanlan performing martial arts wearing an all white outfit. We also hear a VoiceOver that says”The real heroes are always alone”. While the video comes to an end, we see the official poster of the film, which shows the actors as a lone warrior.

Alone OTT Release Date
Although the makers of this high-octane action thriller have not made any announcement regarding its release date, it is said that the film will avoid the theater release and go for the OTT release. We will update the information as soon as the team makes a new announcement.
