Ayushmann Khurrana has been facing a string of flops post-pandemic in the form of Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, Anek, and Doctor G. The actor who one’s was a bankable star is now finding a way to end his dry phase at the box office.
The actor will be hoping to end his dry run with his upcoming film “An Action Hero” in which he is playing larger than life character for the first time ever. It is a blend of action, comedy and thriller and was out in cinemas on Dec 2.
It is recently issued a “UA” certificate by the censor board with an approved runtime of 2hr 12min or 134minutes.

An Action Hero Screen Counts and Budget
It is backed by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series with the collaboration of Anand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions. The theatrical rights of the movie are bought by AA Films in India. It certainly would have been tough for them to occupy the screens amid the presence of the biggies Drishyam 2 and Bhediya.
However, it is said to be released on 1200-1500 screens in the domestic market. As per the trade circle reports, Ayushmann’s film is made with a budget of 40 crores.
Box Office Collection Day 1
It seems the flop trend will continue for Ayushmann with “An Action Hero” as well. It witnessed a dismal trend in the pre-sales for the opening day as it accumulated only 21.34L for day 1.
As per the trade estimation, An Action Hero opened with a 1-1.5 Cr mark at the box office, which is below par with the trade expectations. With this, An Action Hero has become Ayushmann’s lowest performer for day 1 post-pandemic. Going by the trends, the film will draw around 5 Cr on the first weekend.
His last film Doctor G had finished its run under 30 Cr, An Action Hero will need a solid audience word of mouth to emerge victorious at the box office or its fate will become like his former (post-covid) movies.

Ajay Devgn’s film Drishyam 2 is having its dream run at the box office and is not in the mood of slowing down anytime soon. The film continues to become the top choice for moviegoers.
Amid this, it will be tough for Ayushmann’s latest release to outdo the daily earnings of Ajay starrer considering Action Hero is itself failed to carry a buzz surrounding it. An Action Hero failed to create any pre-release buzz with the posters and trailer. The film will have to completely rely on word of mouth.
