Five times academy award nominee filmmaker, producer Richard Linklater is soon coming with an exciting coming-of-age animated science fiction film titled Apollo 10 1/2.
The Netflix film is set in 1969 and is based on Linklater’s childhood memories, as per the trailer, the coming of age story explores the U.S government space race in 1969 against the soviet union of landing their first man on the earth’s natural satellite.
Richard wrote, directed, and produced this animated series, he is back in the animated genre after the 2006 adult animated sci-fi film A Scanner Darkly.

Richard bankrolled the film along with Tommy Pallotta, Mike Blizzard, Femke Wolting, and Bruno Felix. Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood is scheduled to premiere on the digital platform Netflix on 1 April 2022.

Milo Coy will be giving the voice to the protagonist Stanley, and Jack Black as the adult Stanley. Other actors that be giving voice in the Linklater directorial are Glen Powell, Zachary Levi, Josh Wiggins, Lee Eddy, Bill Wise, Natalie L’Amoreaux, Jessica Brynn Cohen, Sam Chipman, and Danielle Guilbot.
Apollo 10 1/2 Production
The film was announced in Feb 2018 and went on the floors in Feb 2020, filming took place in Austin, Texas. Filming concluded in March 2020. Apollo 10 1/2 will see its premiere at South By Southwest or SXSW film festival in 2022.
The technical team of Apollo 10 1/2 includes Shane F. Kelly as a cinematographer, and Sandra Adair is the editor, it is made under the banner of Netflix Animation and Minnow Mountain Submarine.
