Directed by Maju, Appan is a Malayalam dark comedy thriller film that is creating a lot of buzz. The film, co-written by R. Jayakumar, is set to have a direct-to-OTT release, instead of a theatrical release.
Appan Movie handles simultaneously four genres- family, drama, dark humour, satire and thriller. The film is produced by Josekutty Madathil and Ranjith Manambarakkat under the banner of Tiny Hands Production.
Appan Star Cast
Sunny Wayne, who was most recently seen in the Malayalam police drama film Kuttavam Shikshayum alongside Asif Ali, Alencier Ley Lopez, and others, plays the lead in the film.Actress Ananya of “Engaeyum Eppothum” fame is playing the leading lady in the film.
Other than them, the film also stars Pauly Valsan, Alencier Ley Lopez, Grace Antony, Vijilesh, Radhika Radhakrishnan, Anil K. Sivaram, Geethi Sangeetha, Unni Raj Cheruvathoor, Drupad Krishna, Janaki RK, Shamsudheen Mankarathodi, Mallika, Chilamban, Mallu, GK, and Ashraf etc.
The technical crew of the film includes Pappu as cinematographer, Kiran Das as an editor, Kripesh Ayyappankutty as the art director, and Dawn Vincent as the music composer. Anwar Ali has penned the lyrics for the movie’s songs.

The 2-minute-long trailer features Alencier as an elderly father who suffers from old age and depression below the waist and lives in bed forever. The trailer shows him extremely annoying to his family, who longs for his death and possessions.
