Based on the DC Comics character Aquaman, “Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom” is an upcoming superhero film, which is jointly produced by DC Films, The Safran Company and Atomic Monster Productions.
It is the 15th film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and is a sequel of 2018 film Aquaman, which grossed $1.148 billion worldwide making it the highest grossing DCEU Film, the highest-grossing film based on a DC Comics character and the 5th highest grossing film of that year.
Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom Star Cast
Aquaman 2 will bring most of the star cast of Aquaman back, to reprise their roles. The actors who are confirmed to be return on the upcoming sequel are:
- Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry a.k.as Aquaman
- Amber Heard as Princess Mera
- Williem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Arthur’s mentor
- Patrick Wilson as Orm Marius, Arthur’s half brother
- Dolph Lundgen as King Nereus
- Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as David Kane/Black Manta
- Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Arthur’s father
- Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Arthur’s mother
In addition to these stars, Ben Affleck reprises his DC Extended Universe role as Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman. Also appearing are Randall Park as Dr. Stephen Shin, Vincent Regan as Atlan, Jani Zhao as Stingray, Indya Moore as Karshon and Pilou Asbaek in an undisclosed role.
Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom Release Date
After being delayed multiple times, the film has been decided to be released on Christmas 2022 in theaters. Ahead of the release of DC’s Black Adam, the Warner Bros. pushed the release date of Aquaman 2 to December 25, 2022 from March 17, 2023, after having pushed back from December 21, 2022.
Now, Shazam: Fury of the Gods is set to take the March release date (March 17) after having earlier been set to arrive on Aquaman 2’s initial December 2022 date. The news of delay in the release date of these most awaited movies again, has come as a shock to DC lovers. Aquaman is set to make your Christmas 2023 more special.

About the Film
The film is directed by James Wan, who along with Peter Safran backed this project. David Leslie Johnson- McGoldrick has written the screenplay. Wan and McGoldrick, Jason Mamoa and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett have jointly written the story of the film.
The film’s story revolves around Arthur Curry a.k.a. Aquaman, who sets out to lead the underwater kingdom of Atlantis and stop his half brother King Orm, from uniting the seven water kingdoms to destroy the surface world.
