The much-awaited movies Avatar 2 has finally been released in cinemas. As per the trade reports, it has emerged as the 2nd biggest Hollywood opener of all time surpassing Spiderman: NWH.
Avatar 2 or Avatar: The Way of Water is projected to collect $167-192M on the opening weekend in North America. The movie took a great opening in China as well, it has accumulated $23.70M at the box office China including Thursday previews.
Avatar 2 Screen Counts and Advance Bookings Reports
Avatar 2 has occupied over 3800 screens in India with 17000+ shows daily. It has clocked the highest advance among the Hollywood release in India in 2022. The film sold overall 7.3L tickets worth Rs 20.94 Cr. It surpassed the day 1 advance bookings earnings of the likes of Thor 4 (Rs 14 Cr) and Doctor Strange 2 (Rs 19.80 Cr).
Avatar 2 Ticket Price is Rs 2500
As per the media reports, the price for tickets of Avatar 2 is Rs 2500 at premium multiplexes, which is huge. Earlier, the tickets for Black Panther 2 were also sold out at Rs 2500 at select cities in walk in the National Captial Region. The tickets for Spiderman: No Way Home and Brahmastra were also sold at above Rs 2000 rates at premium multiplexes.
Box Office Collection Day 1
Now, the trade reports suggest that Avatar 2 has taken the all-time 2nd highest start for a Hollywood film in India. As per the industry tracker, Taran Adarsh, Avatar 2 has minted Rs 41 Cr+ on day 1 (Friday) in India. With this, it has crossed the Spider-Man: No Way Home opening day collection in India.

Now, it is only behind the Avengers: Endgame opening day earnings of Rs 53.10 Cr. Going by things, it is heading for a solid over Rs 120-135 Cr opening weekend. Most of the day 1 earnings of Avatar 2 came from the South market, the film made Rs 22 Cr business from there.
It will next be eying to clock a position in the list of one of the highest-grossing Hollywood films in India in its run.
