The highly anticipated sequel to James Cameron’s 2009 film Avatar, which is the world’s highest-grossing film to date, Avatar 2 or Avatar: The Way of Water is currently running in cinemas.
The film, which premiered in London on December 6 and was theatrically released in the United States and other territories across the world on December 16, 2022, opened to highly positive reviews.
With its mind-blowing visuals, exceptional storyline, screenplay, and direction, the film has made audiences crazy worldwide. In the first day, the film grossed over $160 million in the USA and Canada and around $340 million in other parts of the world, bringing the total to around $492 million.
Avatar 2: Advance Booking Day 7
Avatar 2 opened to a roaring response worldwide, including in India, where people were eagerly waiting for the film to enjoy the experience of watching it in theaters. The film has created a huge buzz everywhere in the country, which led to massive advance bookings of 21.10 crore for Day 1.
The craze for the film doesn’t seem to be coming to an end; the film’s advance booking for day 7 led to a bumper sale of tickets. More than 1,60,000 tickets were sold, grossing around Rs. 4.85 crore in the domestic market.
Avatar 2 Box Office Collection Day 7
Cameron’s epic science fiction created a lot of buzz in India and had a massive opening of Rs. 40 crore here, making it the second biggest Hollywood opener of all time in India after the 2019 film Avenger: End Games, which earned Rs. 53 crore on its opening day.
By the end of the first weekend, the film had earned around Rs. 130 crore in the Indian market, bringing the worldwide total to Rs. 3500 crore. On Monday, it minted over Rs. 18.75 crore, whereas on Tuesday (December 17), it witnessed a sharp decline and collected Rs. 16 crore (net) in India.
The film earned 15.25 crores (net) on the 6th day, and with this, the Cameron science fiction film has collected approximately 180 crores (net) at the Indian box office.
As per the trade reports, Avatar 2 collected Rs 13.8 Cr on day 7(Thu) and with this Avatar 2 has crossed the 200 Cr milestone in India, taking the total first week collections of the movie to Rs 193.6 Cr. It has also crossed the lifetime of Kartik Aryan’s 2022 blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 which accumulated 185.92 Cr in its run in India.
