James Cameron’s much-awaited “Avatar 2” or “Avatar: The Way of Water” is all set to hit the theatres. The advance reports suggest that the film is to take a humungous start at the box office, worldwide.
As per Cameron, Avatar 2 needs to collect $2B to enter into the profit phase and for that, it will have to make huge business at the box office from all territories. It is expected to collect over $200M from China in the opening weekend itself overtaking its prequel Avatar’s lifetime ($202M).

The epic sci-fi is carrying a massive buzz surrounding it, the full-fledged advance bookings of the film were opened in India a week ago. As of Dec 15, afternoon, Avatar 2 has sold overall tickets of 5.6 Lakhs worth 16.57 Cr in all formats.
With this, it overtakes the day 1 advance earnings of Thor 4 of Rs 14 crores. With half a day to go, Avatar 2 is expected to beat Doctor Strange 2 (Rs 19.80 Cr) and
Spiderman: No Way Home (Rs 22 Cr) advance bookings day 1 collections.
It will be released in India in English, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi in 2D, 3D, 3D Screen X, 4DX, and IMAX 3D formats.
Avatar 2 Screen Counts and Budget
The film is expected to occupy over 3000 screens in India given the huge pre-release buzz it has created. It is said to be made on an estimated budget of $350-400M making it one of the most expensive films to date.
