Clash with Kantara affected its biz
It seems like the business of Banaras have severely affected due to the clash with already successful films like Gandhada Gudi and Kantara in the home market. The latter two films have occupied most of the screens in Karnataka and continue the winning run at the box office. The business of the film is minimal in dubbed languages as well.
Box Office Collection Day 2
It is estimated to have taken a 20L start in the home market the trend will be flat till Sunday. As per the trade estimations, it collects 20-25L on Sat to take the total collections of the movie to over 40L.
It looks like Zaid’s film will not be able to collect even 1 crore on its opening weekend, thus it’s a flop affair unless any miracle happens.
All About Banaras
Banaras is a romantic film that has time travel elements involved, it is set in the backdrop of Kashi. And stars Zaid Khan, Sonal Monteiro, Sujay Shastry, Devaraj, and Achyuth Kumar in the key roles. It was passed with a U/A certificate by the CBFC board and has an approved runtime of 2hr 30min or 150mins.
