Directed and written by Jayathirtha, Banaras is an upcoming Pan India romantic drama film which is a poignant love story set in the backdrop of the beautiful Banaras city, popularly known as Kashi and Varanasi.
The film’s director Jayathirhta is known for his work in movies such as Olave Mandara, Tony, Endendigu, Bullet Basya, Beautiful Manasugalu and Kannada movie Bell Bottom etc.

Banaras Poster & Release Date
On August 31, 2022, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the makers of the film revealed the release date of the film as well as a poster featuring the lead stars- Zaid Khan and Sonali Monteiro. The official trailer has also been released on 27th of Sep.
The film produced by Tilak Raj Ballal and Muzammil Ahmed Khan under the banner of NK Productions, is set to have a theatrical release in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages on November 4, 2022 worldwide.

Banaras Star Cast
This romantic entertainer stars young and dashing actor Zaid Khan in the lead role as Sidharth Simha and Sandalwood actress Sonali Monteiro is playing opposite him as Dhani. The SIIMA Award winning actress has also appeared in movies such as MLA, Panchatantra, Abhisaarike and Roberrt among others.
Along with the leading star cast, the film also stars Sujay Shashtry as Shambhu, Devaraj as Ajay Simha, Achyuth Kumar as Narayan Shastry, Barkath Ali as Peter Jackson and Sapna Raj etc.
On the technical front, Aithagurumurthy is cranking the camera, K.M. Prakash has handled the editing work and B. Ajaneesh Lokanath has composed the music as well as original score of the film.
About the Film
It is a film on the beauty, rich legacy, and culture of Banaras. It is said to be the first South India film which is entirely shot in the holy city, and will feature all of the main ghats. It also depicts the religious significance of Mukti Bhagwan and Bharat Mata Mandir, as well as their heritage past. This mystery romantic love story will focus on the peculiar profession of death photography, which is still practiced in Banaras.
