Akkineni Nagarjuna starrer Bangarraju after opening up big hasn’t stopped its hunt for the BO collections and made the weekend blockbuster. The film was released on 14 January (Friday) coinciding with the Sankranti Festival and garnered a mass amount of footfalls at the ticket windows.
Father-Son duo rocked the BO at a time when the other big-budget films like RRR, Radhe Shyam, etc postponed their releases owing to fear of Covid restrictions.
Not only this, the Bangarraju had more hurdles like Low ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh state, many theatres operating with 50% occupancy, and clash with domestic films like Hero, Super Machi, Rowdy Boys, etc.

Still, Bangarraju emerged victorious against all the odds and minted Rs 17.5 crores on the very first day of its release, though it was the Sankranti festival and only big-ticket film among other films which helped to pull the audience at the cinemas.
Naga Chaitanya’s energetic performance, powerful dialogues, decent first half, astounding climax, excellent music, and colorful cinematography made this Sankranti blockbuster for the film.
