Popular filmmaker couple Nitesh Tiwari and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari has announced their next project on Monday tilted Bas Karo Aunty, touted-to-be an adult comedy drama film, it will showcase how the social pressure is affect the young people’s live who want to do something different from what they call normal.
Nitesh Tiwari’s debut directorial family comedy drama Chillar Party was a big hit and won National Film Awards for Best Children’s Film in 2011. He also scripted and directed Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra starrer Dangal, which is the highest grossing Indian sports film till date.
On the other hand, Tiwari’s wife filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari made her directorial debut with 2016 comedy drama Nil Battey Sannata. She also won Filmfare Award for Best Director for 2017 romantic comedy film Bareilly ki Barfi, in which her husband served as the co-writer.
Bas Karo Aunty Cast & Crew
Based on young author and entrepreneur Varun Agarwal’s National best selling novel How I Braved Anu Aunty & Co- Founded A Million Dollar Company, published by Rupa & Co. in 2012, the film stars Ishwak Singh, best known for his roles in the series Paatal Lok (2020) and Rocket Boys (2022) in the male lead role.
Actress Maima Makwana will play opposite Ishwak Singh in the film. Mahima played in many TV serials as a child artist and made her feature film debut in 2017 Telugu crime thriller Venkatapuram and played a crucial role in her Hindi debut film Antim: The Final Truth.
The film will be directed by Abhishek Sinha, who will be making her directorial debut with this film. Nitesh Tiwari has written it along with Nikhil Mehrotra. To back the film filmmaker duo Nitesh Tiwari and Ashwiny Iyer has joined hands with big production houses- Star Studios, Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies and Siddharth Roy Kapur’s banner Roy Kapur Films.
