Leslie Grace starring Batgirl was an upcoming superhero film, based on Detective comics characters of the same name, Recently the director duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah informed fans via social media platform Instagram, that they are shocked that the Batgirl has been shelved.
As we know in May 2021 it was confirmed that Batgirl would be an American leading streaming platform HBO Max’s original film. Further, the filming commenced in Nov 2021 in Glasgow and was completed in March 2022.
Reportedly, it was in its post-production phase when makers decided to cancel the $90 Million (Rs 716.82 crores approx) project, it will not be released on any platform – neither theatrically nor on a streaming platform. Warner Bros. and Discovery merger which led to a change in corporate strategy, Batgirl appears to have fallen victim, as per the reports.

Batgirl was directed by Black, Gangsta, and Bad Boys for Life fame Belgian-Moroccan film Tv directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, whereas the screenplay was written by Christina Hodson, apart from Bad Girl, she is also writing the story of another DC comic character The Flash. Her works include Unforgettable (2017), Bumblebee (2018), and Birds of Prey (2020).

When & Where To Watch
Batgirl was being backed by Kristin Burr under the banner Warner Bros. Pictures in association with DC FIlms and Burr! Productions. It was to release on HBO Max in the fourth quarter of 2022 however the decision sent shockwaves through Hollywood and among fans.
Main lead actress Leslie Grace had revealed the first look poster of the film, in which she was decked out in a batgirl costume.

Technical Team
On the technical front, the cinematography was being carried out by John Mathieson. He wass also seen cranking the camera in the MCU’s upcoming film Doctor Strange in the madness of the multiverse. Natalie Holt had given the music in the film, her works include Press, Knightfall, and recently Loki.
