Thalapathy Vijay starrer after grossing Rs 190 Cr at the box office now inching slowly towards the Rs 200 Cr mark, despite the film having an extended weekend of five days, it fails to gross the expected amount.
Beast garnered most from the home market, earlier it was being expected that the film could garner decent footfalls from the north also but following no promotions & marketing barring the Hindi trailer for the Hindi version, the film failed to perform well.
In its 5 days long weekend, the film collected only Rs 1.50 Cr at the northern belt and will barely reach Rs 2 Cr in one week. Thalapathy 65 seems not to cross even its break-even point of Rs 240 Cr, as the film starts seeing a dip in its collections and could barely stay in theatres till the third week.
As per the estimation, Nelson’s directorial will cross the Rs 100 Cr gross mark in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday taking the total worldwide collection to around Rs 195 Cr.
