Renowned Ghazal Singer Bhuprnder Singh passed away at the age of 82. He was known for giving several classics to Hindi cinema like ‘Naam Goom Jayega, Zindagi Mere Ghar Aana, Shama Jalaye Rakhna, Dil Dhoondta Hai’, etc.
About Bhupender Singh
Bhupender Singh was born on 6 February 1940 in Amritsar, Punjab to Prof. Natha Singhji, a trained vocalist and music teacher. Bhupender singh was also a great guitarist.
Bhupender Singh Musical Career
Bhupender started his career with All India Radio in Delhi and afterwards he also worked with Doordarshan center, Delhi. And during a party hosted by All India Radio, composer Madan Mohan spotted him and called him to Bombay.
In the year 1964 with Chetan Anand Directorial “Haqeeqat”, he made his bollywood debut by the song composed by Mohan “Hoke Majboor Mujhe Usne Bulaya Hoga” along with Mohammed Rafi, Talat Mahmood and Manna Dey.
In the year 1966 Bhupender released his first single “Rut Jawan Jawan Raat Meherbaan” in the Khayyam composed feature film “Aakhri Khat”.
After that Bhupinder started releasing private albums wherein his first LP had three self-composed songs which was released in 1968, a second LP of ghazals wherein he introduced the Spanish guitar, bass and drums to the ghazal style, released in 1978 and his third LP titled Woh Jo Shair Tha, for which the lyrics were written by Gulzar released in 1980.
Bhupinder has also been credited as a guitarist in numerous Hindi films including “Dum Maaro Dum” from the Dev Anand movie Hare Rama Hare Krishna and “Chura Liya Hai” from Yaadon Ki Baaraat.
Bhupender Singh personal life
In the year 1980 Bhupender married Bangladeshi-Indian playback singer Mitali Mukherjee and together the couple have a son named Nihal Singh who is also a singer.
Mitali and Bhupender together released several albums naming Dream sellers, Chandani raat, Gulmohar, Ghazal ke Phool, etc.

Cause Of Death
According to Mitali Singh wife of Bhupender Singh the veteran artist was admitted to the hospital following a urine infection, wherein he was diagnosed with COVID-19.
He was also diagnosed with colon cancer and passed away at the age 82.
