The border is based on the Battle of Longewala which took place on 4-7 Dec 1971 between Pakistani assaulting forces and Indian soldiers. It depicts the story of how 120 Indian soldiers fought bravely 3 thousand Pakistani soldiers ambushed.

6- Krantiveer
Now, who, would forget the motivational speech by Nana Patekar in the climax of Krantiveer. The film revolves around a vigilante Pratap Tilak (Portrayed by Patekar) who is the grandson of a freedom fighter.
The film starts with Pratap indulging in gambling which leads to the death of his grandfather, further he leaves home & goes to Mumbai where he resides in a Chowl owner’s home.
The movie tweaked when Pratap found out the politics around the Chawl which leads the mass killing and communal riots which turned out Pratap killed a corrupted minister, Judge, and police officer.
Later he was charged with multiple crimes and sentenced to death however at the 11th hr, a lawyer arrives at the scene and tells that the President has pardoned Pratap. It was remade in Telugu and Kannada as Punya Bhoomi Na Desam (1995) and Parodi (2007) respectively.
7- Lagaan
Lagaan is set in the year 1893 when India was under British rule, it tells the story of a village called Champaner, where the inhabitants are
burdened by high taxes by the Britishers to make themselves free from the Lagaan (Agricultural Tax) they had to play the game of cricket.
Lagaan was released on 15 June 2001 and went on to become a critically and commercially successful film of that time. It was the third Indian film after Mother India and Salaam Bombay which was nominated for Oscars in the category of Best Foreign Language.
