Directed by Anees Bazmee, best known for his work in comedy flicks like No Entry, Welcome, Welcome Back, Singh Is King and Ready etc., the most talked about film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which is the standalone sequel of 2007 Khiladi Akshay Kumar starrer blockbuster horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa is all set to hit the big screens soon.
Bollywood’s young and talented actor Kartik Aryan starrer is slated to be released on Friday, May 20th 2022. It also stars Tabu, Kiara Advani and comedy king Rajpal Yadav. It is jointly bankrolled in Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar’s T-series in association with Murad Khetani’s Cine 1 Studios.
Box- Office Clashes
After seeing the success recently released acclaimed film like Pushpa, Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR, KGF 2, The Kashmir Files, we can say that the Indian cinema is again back on the track.
Now, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is another biggie that will soon be available in theatres in a few days. After being postponed multiple times the film finally got its release date. To avoid the clashes with other big budget movies, May 20, 2022 has been finalised as the release date.
Despite all these things, the film is going to face a direct clash with another big ticket film and that is Kangana Ranaut starrer Dhakkad, which is an action thriller in genre. Both the movies will be released on the same day. Just a few days ago, Ajay Devgn starrer Runway 34 and Tiger Shroff starrer Heropanti 2 also clashed at the Box -office.
Advance Bookings
Almost full-fledge advance booking of this much-hyped horror comedy-drama commenced across India on Friday, May 13, 2022, a week before its release. So far there is so much craze amid the audience for the film given the advance ticket sales.
Interestingly, in an smart move, the team has gone ahead with an economical price strategy to get more and more people back to cinema. Reportedly, the prices of the ticket of the film are exactly half of some of the big budget entertainers of the last 2 months including RRR, KGF 2 and Doctor Strange.
Properties like PVR Juhu and Andheri in Mumbai have their tickets price at Rs. 160 and 110 respectively, which is lower than the average pandemic pricer of Rs. 200 and Rs. 180.
As per May 18 (Wednesday) reports, BB2 saw advance bookings of 2.05 crore for Day 1, it seems the Kartik starrer will sell the ticket prices worth Rs 4 to 4.5 crores for day 1.
In our opinion, it is a smart move as the film caters to a family audience, and with the pandemic prices, it became difficult to watch the movie with the whole family.
Budget
The Kartik Aryan and Kiara Advani starrer long awaited horror comedy flick is said to be made of an estimated budget of Rs. 65-70 Crore. So the films needs to cross a Rs. 100 crore mark to be called a successful film.
On 12 May Thursday, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was passed by the censor board with the ‘UA’ certificate, the film has a runtime of 143 minutes or 2hrs 23min.

Box-Office Prediction
As we have told you above that the makers of the film have taken an smart move at a perfect time by slashing the prices to almost half of most of the biggies that were released in the recent times. This move will surely benefit the movie as more and more people will enter the cinema halls.
The second thing, Ranveer Singh starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which was released on May 13, 2022 and has been running in the theatres is not getting a good response from public. The Ranveer Singh starrer has turned out to be a flop at the Box office and its failure will surely benefit Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.
Seeing all these factor, we can say that the film will have a double digit opening. In our opinion, the horror comedy will be able to collect around Rs. 11-12 crore on the Day 1, though it remains to see whether the film would rake in more that his highest-grossing opening day film Love Aaj Kal’s Day 1 collection(Rs 12 Cr).
It is also to be noted that the spot bookings are also important here, as we have recently seen that Tiger starrer Heropanti 2 had seen the amazing advance bookings but failed to get the expected opening collection.
