Written and directed by debutante Mallidi Vashist, Bimbisara is an upcoming Telugu fantasy action film, starring Nandamuri Kalyan Ram in the lead role. The film was launched in 2020 under the tentative title #NKR18, as it is the 17th film of the actor’s career.
The shooting of the big budget film also started in 2020 but due to COVID-19 pandemic it was paused, later it was resumed in mid 2021, the same year the title of the film was revealed to be Bimbisara. The film’s shooting has been completed and now post-production is in full swing.
Bimbisara Star Cast
In the film, the lead actor Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, who is the grandson of the legendary Telugu superstar NTR Senior and the son of actor Nandamuri Harikrishna, is playing as Bimbisara. He will be playing a dual role, one is in the backdrop of ancient times and another one is in present time.
Catherine Tresa is the female lead playing the Warrior queen (in the ancient backdrop), Aira Samyuktha Menon is also playing a female lead as Vyjayanthi, a modern day journalist. Other than these stars, the film also features Warina Hussain, Vennela Kishore, Srinivas Reddy and Brahmaji in supporting roles.
Bimbisara Makers
The film is bankrolled by Hari Krishna K. under the banner of N.T.R. Arts. The film’s dialogues are written by Vasudev Muneppagari while Sreedhar Ganta and Nimmagadda Srikanth are the script associates.
On the technical front, Chota K. Naidu is serving as the cinematographer, Tammi Raju is taking care of editing work and Anil Paduri is the VFX producer. M.M. Keeravani is the music director while Chirrantan Bhatt has composed the songs.
Bimbisara New Poster Out
As we know, NT Rama Rao senior, who brought the revolution in Telugu film industry and was one of the biggest names in Indian cinemas as well as politics. On Saturday, May 28, 2022, the film industry celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary actor. Many big names from the film industry and politics paid homage to him.
To mark this special day, his grandson actor Nandamuri Kalyan Ram released the new poster of Bimbisara that features Kalyan Ram in a fierce look as a ruthless king while his modern incarnation features him all decked in a green colour blazer with white shirt and black paints.

Bimbisara Release Date
The date of this highly -anticipated film was announced back in April this year on the occasion of Ugadi. It had been confirmed that the film will have its grand theatre release on August 5, 2022. The official twitter handle of the film’s production studio as well as Nandamuri family’s home banner NTR Arts had also shared the post revealing the film’s release date. Have a look:
