Global OTT giant Netflix always comes up with unique and promising content for its viewers. Whether it is a movie or a web-shows, it always delivers best for its viewers, that is why it is one of the top OTT streaming platforms worldwide.
On Thursday, July 28, 2022, the streamer announced its most-awaited project, which is a biographical film titled Blonde, based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates.
The novel is based on the life of Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe, who was famous for playing comedic “blonde bombshell” characters and became one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950s and early 1960s. In August 1962, she died at the age of 36 from an overdose of barbiturates at her Los Angeles home.
Blonde OTT Release Date
The streaming giant has already announced the release date of the film. Blonde is set to have a direct OTT release on the platform on September 28, 2022. The film is Netflix’s first NC-17 film which invites viewers to witness a life both known and unknown.

Blonde Trailer Out
Along with release date, Netflix also released a 2-minute long trailer of the film. The trailer starts with a conversation between Ana de Armas’ character of Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio played by Bobby Cannavale, where he asks Monroe about how she got her start in movies.
Throughout the trailer, scenes from Monroe’s life flash on the screen, but behind the iconic moments from film history, her struggle with her identity and the pressure of fame is also shown. Overall, the trailer was promising and surely people will get to look deep into the complicated life of the Hollywood legend.

Blonde Cast & Crew
The film produced by Plan B Entertainment stars Cuban and Spanish actress Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe. The 34-year old actress is known for appearing in movies like Knock Knock, War Dogs, Hands of Stones, Blade Runner 2049.
She also played Bond girl Paloma in the James Bond film No Time to Die (2021). He most recent film was erotic psychological thriller Deep Water, in which she stars opposite Ben Affleck.
The film is d directed by Andrew Dominik, whose previous credits includes Killing Them Softly and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Crowd Robert Ford.
