On the big day of national cinema day, “Brahmastra” created records in terms of footfalls, it is watched by a huge 16 Lakh people across the country, yesterday. It also becomes the first film to score a double-digit on day 1 of the third week in the history of Bollywood all-time.
National cinema day was celebrated on Friday by all the exhibitors (with few exceptions) across the country. The national cinema day was earlier scheduled to be observed on Sept 16th but later it was postponed to Sept 23rd.
The visual spectacle “Brahmastra” recorded outstanding footfalls and it was very well expected considering its excellent advance bookings for day 15. Ranbir’s film outdone its Day 1 in the advance bookings sale as it had sold more than 4L tickets till Wed night in the three national properties.

Brahmastra Witnesses record footfalls
For day 1, it had sold 3.02L tickets in the 3 national chains (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis) which itself is at the no. 10 in the list of Top 10 advance bookings of all time in the three chains.
Now, till Wed night, Brahmastra (Day 15) already fetched the no. 3 spot in the list with selling 4.10 L tickets, trailing behind Baahubali 2 (Rs 6.50 L) and KGF2 (Rs 5.15 L).
Overall it sold over 11 L tickets worth Rs 10.17 crores, for day 15 as of Thu night. Around 16 L people watched the flick on Friday making it the biggest single-day footfall since the day of its release. The tickets were priced at Rs 75, had they been sold at normal rates, Brahmastra would have minted around 30 Cr+ on its third Friday.

However, it touches the double-digit figures on Day 15 again making it the first ever Bollywood film of all time to mint the amount on the first day of the third week. As per the trade estimations, it clocked Rs 10.25 crores on Friday.
The total domestic collections now stands at Rs 233 crores+, all versions. With this, it is now 20 crores away to cross the lifetime of The Kashmir Files which it is expected to cross on Sunday to become the top grosser of 2022 for an outright Hindi film.
