Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film “Brahmastra: Part One” is all set to witness the biggest opening for an outright Hindi film in 2022. The advance reports are all blockbusters and it is all set to become the widest release Bollywood film on Sept 9, post-pandemic.
The visual spectacle has been in the making for a while now, it is directed and written by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Star Studios and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
Brahmastra Screen Counts and Budget
Ranbir-Alia starrer is mounted on a huge budget, reportedly it is made with 410 crores budget which makes it the most expensive Bollywood film to date. It is also set to be the widest release film post-pandemic, recently K Madhavan, president of Disney Star revealed that they are going to release Brahmastra across the globe on 8000 screens. 5000 in India and 3000 overseas markets.
It will set the record for the widest ever release in Australia, 300+ screens and the widest post-pandemic in Kerala, 102 screens.
Brahmastra Advance Bookings
As per Bollywood Hungama, till Monday morning, it had sold 72000 tickets at the three national properties (PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis) and now as per their claims, the biggest multiplex chains PVR and INOX are said to have sold over 1.50L and 1.25L tickets respectively, for the opening weekend.
So far, Ranbir’s film has sold over 2.98L tickets worth Rs 10.34 Cr in Hindi for opening day, as of Thu morning, as per a report of Sacnilk.com. The report also added that Brahmastra has grossed around 11 crores from the ticket sales in all languages, for the opening day.
Box Office Prediction Day 1
Now, following the advance bookings and the wide release that Ranbir’s film is going to witness, it holds the chance to become the biggest money spinner for a Hindi film at least for day 1.
As per the current trend, it could take a start of over 25 Cr and it will not be exaggerating to say if it beats day 1 of Sooryavanshi (Rs 26.29 Cr) to become the highest grosser opening day post-pandemic.
With this, it will also cross the RRR (Hindi) opening day collections of Rs 22.07 Cr, however, beating the KGF2 (Hindi) Day 1 collection would become an uphill task for the film. All will depend on spot bookings, let’s wait for how much more it adds in advance till Thu night.
Brahmastra gets U/A Certificate
Ayan Mukerji’s film is certified with U/A by the censor board on Sept 5, the duration is 166.54 mins or 2hrs 46min 54 sec. This big budget is the first part in the trilogy of Brahmastra, the trailer, and new look posters have already created much hype ahead of its release, along with Ranbir and Alia, it stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Dimple Kapadia. Shah Rukh Khan will reportedly be doing a cameo appearance in the movie.
