Directed and written by Shakti Soundar Rajan, Captain is an upcoming Tamil science fiction movie. The film marks the 6th directorial project of the director, after Naanayam, Naaigal Jaakirathai, Miruthan, Tik Tik Tik, and Teddy.
The film also marks the second collaboration between director and Arya, the lead actor of the film, after 2021 fantasy action drama Teddy which had its direct OTT premiere on Disney + Hotstar, starring Sayyeshaa as the female lead.
Arya himself is producing the film under his own banner The Show People in association with Think Studios. On technical front, Pradeep E. Raghav has done the editing while V. Arun Raj is handling the VFX Department.
The makers have roped in R. Sakti Saravanan as action choreographer while the film will have lyrics by Madhan Karky. S. Yuva handled the cinematography.

Captain Star Cast
In the film Arya will play the male lead as a commando. Arya’s last release was Anand Shankar directorial action thriller film, featuring Vishal, Mamta Mohandas Mirnalini Ravi along with Arya.
Filmfare award-winning actress Aishwarya Lekshmi will play the opposite Arya. She also featured in Tamil anthology series titled Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa.
The actress is currently busy with her epic historical fiction Ponniyin Selvan:I of Lyca Productions and upcoming action thriller film Godse, starring Satyadev Kancharana in the lead role along with her.
Actress Simran Bagga is also playing the key role in the film with Harish Uthaman, Kavya Shetty, Bharath Raj and Gokul Anand portraying supporting roles.
Captain First Look Out
On Monday, April 4, 2022, the makers of the movie unveiled the first look of the action flick with Tamil Telugu and English title fonts. The immersive poster features Arya as a soldier in the commando uniform, eyes-closed and wielding a gun, alongside a dangerous creature in a post-apocalyptic world.

The shooting of the film began in October 2021 and it has been shot at various locations around Jammu and Kashmir UT and Chennai. The shooting of the film was wrapped up in February 12, 2022.
