Arya’s sci-fi thriller “Captain” is gracing the big screens this Onam, It is helmed and written by Shakti Soundar Rajan, the movie marks the second collab between the duo Arya and Shakti after Teddy.
The trailer of it has already created much hype among the movielovers with its unique concept, graphics and the cinematography. Along with Arya, it has Aishwarya Lekshmi, Simran, Kavya Shetty, and Harish Uthaman in the key roles.
Advance Bookings & Budget
Arya starrer is arriving in theatres on 8 Sept 2022 in Tamil and Telugu. The advance bookings of the film haven’t been opened yet, it is expected to open 1-2 day before the release. As per the reports, Captain is made with an estimated budget of 30-50 crores.

Trailer Review
The trailer was dropped on Aug 22 (Mon) and it promised to be a thrilling ride with amazing VFx and graphics, it starts with sector 42 (forest area), with no civilian or military activity since long and within it, lives presumably an exteraterrestrial creature that is posing a threat to human species. Arya is playing Indian army captain named Vetriselvan. Trailer recieved much appreciation for the VFx, its new concept, cinematography and the respective performances.
Screen Counts
As we discussed above it has created quite a buzz among the tamil movie-goers with its new concept. However, it is remained to be seen whether the hype remains intact till its release or not. It is expected to be released in around 400-500 screens in Tamil Nadu.
Box Office Collection Day 1
The film has a chance to perform well at the box office as their is no major competitor releasing at that time. Although the already released flick Cobra’s fear will be there but to a limited extent as the latter would have completed over 1 week run till then. As per the estimation, Captain will collect around Rs 6-8 Cr gross from the Tamil Nadu alone. However, these are just estimation, the figures could go anywhere, the more accurate data will be projected once the advance report comes through. Till then stay tuned.
