Abhishek Kapoor’s directorial Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui was released on 10 Dec 2021 theatrically. It is a romantic drama film with a strong message which stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Shuddh Desi Romance fame Vaani Kapoor in lead.
CKA revolves around Ayushmann Khurana who is playing the role of a cross-functional athlete as Manvinder Munjal who owns a gym, his gym’s business sees far and few footfalls until makes the entry in the film Vaani Kapoor (Maanvi), further, they both fall in love, story tweaked when Munjal finds out the truth about Maanvi.
Ayushmann wins again as picked the different scripts
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is a typical Ayushmann movie as he always tries to give a social message through his films whereby the discussions start on taboo subjects in society. However, the film was released in cinemas on 10 Dec (Friday) and the film minted only Rs 3.75 Cr at the ticket window on an opening day.
Despite getting rave reviews from the critics the film couldn’t gross big at the Box Office, it only manage to accumulate Rs 36.44 cr in two weeks that too in gross figures, it couldn’t even recover its budget.

The film is directed by Rock on, Kedarnath fame Abhishek Kapoor and bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar under the banner of T-Series. The other recent release film of the T-Series namely Satyameva Jayate 2 also couldn’t able to recover its budget and considered flop.
SJ2 collected only Rs 17.29 gross at the BO worldwide in its three weeks. Following this T-Series can think to opt for digital release for their other upcoming theatrical release given that their two theatrical release film went flop at the BO.

Talking about CKA, the film wasn’t able to perform well at the cinemas now let’s see how the digital audience would react to the film. The post-theatrical digital rights of the film have been acquired by the streaming service Netflix shows this drama from the 7th of Jan 2022.

So, the film is streaming platform after 4 weeks of its theatrical release. Apart from Ayushmann and Vaani the film also featured Yash Bhojwani, Abhishek Bajaj, cricketer Yuvraj Singh father Yograj Singh, Gaurav Sharma, Kanwaljit Singh, and Aanjjan Srivastav in pivotal roles.
On the technical front, the Cinematography and Editing have been carried out by Manoj Lobo and Chandan Arora and the music is given by Sachin-Jigar and Tanishk Bagchi. Overall the film is a watchable package, has the potential to make OTT viewers happy.
