Mollywood Megastar Mammootty will soon be back with his upcoming Malayalam film Christopher. Touted-to-be an high octane action thriller, the film is directed by B. Unnikrishnan of Madambi fame and written by Udaykrishna- Sibi K. Thomas, most of whose works are in comedy films.
The shooting of the film started on July 10, 2022 with a Pooja function and it was shot in many places across Kerala including Ernakulam, Pooyamkutty and Vandiperiyar. The film’s shooting is currently in progress and is most likely to be completed by the end of September 2022.
Christopher Star Cast
The National Film Award winning and Padma Shri awardee lead actor Mammootty is playing the titular role in the film. His character is a vigilante cop. His most recent release is psychological drama film Puzhu, which was released directly on Sony LIV on May 13, 2022.
On the work-front, he has many projects in the pipeline for 2022-23 including Rorschach, Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, Kadugannawa Oru Yatra and Bilal. Christopher also stars Amala Paul, Sneha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Siddique, Vinay Rai, Shine Tom Chacko, Dileesh Pothan, Jinu Abraham, Amal Rajdev, Vinitha Koshy, Vasanthi and Nitin Thomas in key roles.
Christopher First Look Poster
On September 6, 2022, the lead team of Christopher revealed the first look poster of the film, just a day before the megastar’s birthday. In the poster, Mammootty is seen in an intense look, that too in his signature cop look with trimmed hair and a thick moustache.
The poster also comes with the tagline “Where the law stops, Justice Begins”. Mammootty also shared the poster through his twitter handle.

Another poster giving us the same vibe, featuring the megastar holding a gun in his hand, was released on September 22. It has a different tagline “For Him, Justice is an Obsession”. From these posters, it is evident that the film is going to be a fulfilling cinematic experience for Malayalam audiences.

Christopher Release Date
The film, bankrolled by RD Illuminations LLP, is expected to be released around Christmas 2022. However, the makers haven’t made any official announcement regarding it so far.
Christopher is filmed by Faiz Siddik and edited by Manoj whereas the film’s music is composed by Justin Varghese.
