Two Bollywood films clashed at the box office this Friday, revenge thriller “Chup: The revenge of the artist” and crime thriller “Dhokha: Round d corner” both catering to the class audience.
While R. Madhavan starrer Dhokha tanked on day 1 itself, Sunny Deol- Dulquer Salmaan starrer Chup witnessed excellent occupancy. Dhokha was opened with mixed reviews while Chup received mostly positive responses from the critics.

Advance Bookings Report Day 2
Chup sold over 2.43 L tickets on opening day, due to the cheap pricing of the tickets owing to national cinema day. As the tickets will be sold at normal prices from Saturday onwards which will affect its advance bookings also.
The normal ticket price affected advance bookings on Day 2 as the revenge thriller sold 15800+ tickets overall, worth Rs 38 L. On the other, the advance bookings for Maddy’s film are negligible on the second day.
Box Office Collection Day 2
Chup takes a good start at the box office as it minted Rs 3.06 cr on the first day while Kooki Gulati-directed Dhokha clocked in only Rs 1.25 crores. If it hadn’t for national cinema day the aforementioned figures would have been their opening weekend collections.
Having said that, it looks like Maddy’s film will have to face losses, on the other, Chup needs to sustain this good start on Sat and Sun to make an over 8 crore weekend.
As per the early trade estimates, Chup rakes in Rs 1.70 Cr on Day 2 taking its total collections to a little below 5 crores. Going by its performance, Dhokha is a flop affair and will be pulled from the theatres soon making its lifetime under 5 crores. It collects Rs 0.50 Cr on Saturday.
Apart from this, a Nepali film titled Prem Geet 3 which locked horns with the said films on Friday took a very well start at the box office. Despite releasing on limited screens, it is heading to cross the breakeven target here.
