The 5th season of American martial art comedy series Cobra Kai has been released on September 9, 2022 on OTT giant Netflix. It consists of a total of ten seasons and all of them were released on the same day.
The series is a direct sequel to the original four films in The Karate Kid franchise which includes The Karate Kid, The Karate Kid Part II, The Karate Kid Part III and The Next Karate Kid.
The debut season of the series premiered in May 2018 following the second season in April 2019, the third season in January 2021 and the fourth one in December 2021.

Story
The series focuses on the characters of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence over 30 years after the original film. When the two decided to open competing dojos, they reignited their rivalry from High School. Now they are aligned against Silver, who has taken over Cobra Kai from Martin Kove’s villain John Krees.
The upcoming season picks up the story from the cliffhanger ending of season 4 and waste no time in diving head first into the drama that unfolds after the All Valley tournament finale where Terry Silver’s dojo ends up winning it all. Terry Silver’s growing threat is all that’s on Daniels head and how he overcomes the same is what this season is all about.

The Season 5 of the series, which was already creating a lot of buzz even before its release, is receiving rave responses from the fans and we can see their reviews on social media. Fans as well as critics are giving the new season of an old tale a big thumbs up for the storylines and even its shows which keep fans engaged.
Also, there is one thing that the makers of Cobra Kai have managed to succeed at with every season, it is making perfect callbacks to the original film franchise. The review aggregator website “Rotten Tomato ” has given it a 100% approval rating, with an average rating of 7.9 out of 10 based on 21 reviews.
