Kollywood superstar Vikram starrer highly anticipated film “Cobra” has been released in theaters. Billed as an action thriller,Cobra is directed by Directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu in his third directorial venture following blockbuster films Demonte Colony and Imaikkaa Nodigal.
The film was officially announced in May 2019 under the tentative title Vikram 58, before the official title was announced that December. It was primarily shot in Chennai, while filming also took place in Kerala, Kolkata and Russia.

Cobra OTT Release Date
Produced by S.S. Lalit Kumar under the banner of Seven Screen Studio, the film hit the big screen on August 31, 2022 after being postponed multiple times. It is reported that the film is garnering mixed response from audience and critics.
If we talk about its OTT release, the film has sealed its OTT streaming partner. The post theatrical OTT streaming rights of the film has been acquired by Sony LIV, will be available on the platform, soon on 28th Sep 2022.

Cobra Star Cast
The film stars Vikram in titular role and it also marks the acting debut of former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan, who is playing a Turkish Interpol officer inte the film. “KGF” fame Srinidhi Shetty is playing the female lead.
Additionally, the film also stars K.S. Ravikumar, Roshan Mathew, Anandaraj, Robo Shankar, Miya George, Mirnalini Ravi, Meenakshi Govindarajan, John Vijay, Sarjano Khalid, Mohammad Ali Baig, Suresh Chandra Menon, Shaji Chan among others.
Cobra Reviews and Budget
The film, which had been creating much hype since its announcement, is garnering generally mixed reviews. One of the critics called it an overlong and over-the-top action entertainer which is made in an old fashioned way.
It is also being criticized for the 3-hour long runtime and shabby screenplay, got trimmed later. It was released in around 800 theaters in Tamil Nadu, 265 screens in Kerala and in around 450 theaters in Telugu states. As per reports, it is made of a whopping budget of Rs. 90 to 100 cr, failed.

Except for #ChiyaanVikram's performance and few scenes there is nothing much for the audience. Length and shabby screenplay has affected it. A let down for the big expectation.
