Actress Parineeti Chopra and singer-cum-actor Harrdy Sandhu starrer espionage thriller Code Name: Tiranga, hit the big screens on October 14, 2022. Directed and written by Ribhu Dasugpta, the film is the first collaboration between the lead actors.
On the other hand, Parineeti is collaborating for the second time with director Dasgupta after the 2021 mystery thriller film titled The Girl on the Train. Code Name Tiranga marks the return of Parineeti on big screen after the biographical drama film Saina (2021), based on India’s star Shuttler Saina Nehwal. For Harrdy Sandhu, it is the thrill Hindi film after 83.
Story
The espionage thriller follows the story of Durga Singh, a very dangerous and skilled Indian spy, who embarks on a dangerous mission to take out a deadly terrorist Khalid Omar in Turkey. But everything gets complicated when she meets and falls in love with a doctor named Mirza Ali, following which her identity becomes compromised, threatening her mission and her love story with Mirza.

Produced by T-Series Films, Reliance Entertainment, and Film Hangar, Code Name Tiranga is one of the much-anticipated films for both the actors, but despite high expectations and the patriotic theme, the film is failing to make it to the audience’s heart.
It opened to a disastrous response as only Rs. 0.15 lakh rupees came in. On Saturday, the film brought in a mere Rs. 0-25 crore .So far it has collected around Rs. 0.14 lakh and it seems it’s pretty much game over for it.
The film is facing a direct clash with the dubbed Hindi version of blockbuster Kannada film Kantara as well as Ayushmann Khurrana’s Doctor G, both of which are performing well at BO. For Code Name Tiranga, it would be very hard to cross Rs. 50 lakh at BO.

OTT Release Date
The post-theatrical streaming rights of the film have been bagged by OTT giant Netflix, and the film will be available on the platform after 4 weeks of its theatrical run. If the film shows some growth, which is not the scenario though, it might take a bit longer to come to the platform. The makers have yet to reveal the OTT streaming date of the film.
