Indian audience is witnessing back to back OTT content with shows made on almost every genre whether it is thriller, comedy, romance action or horror, however, the latter is something that the makers hesitate much, as the Indian audience haven’t consumed more content of other genres than that of horror.
But, Vikram Pawar directed Dahan: Raakan Ka Rahasya is something which the audience had been waiting for very long. The supernatural series made its debut on Disney+Hotstar on September 16, 2022 and all episodes were released in one go.
Plot of the Series
The series follows IAS officer Avani Raut who arrives at a village called Silaspur in Rajasthan, to kickstart a mining project worth Rs. 240 crore. However, her goal is obstructed by villagers who believe in the tremendous evil power of an ancient sorcerer called Ridhikayan, whose head, they believe is trapped inside a rock to prevent any untoward circumstances and to keep peace in the village, they must worship him.
Avani tried to convince the villagers about the revolution of progress this project will bring in the village. However, one Pramukh, played by Saurabh Shukla, is someone who is standing against her. He not only performs exorcism but also guards the Silasthal- the place of worship of Ridhikayan.
Produced by Banijay Asia, the series shows Avani’s struggle and Silaspur’s dark secrets so that its people can finally be touched by the modern world. All of this, while she being a single mother, is also dealing with her past as well as some false corruption charges against her.
Dahan Season 1 Reviews
The series brings out one of the finest performances of Tisca Chopra in front of everyone in the form of IAS Avani Raut. She is getting all praises for her performance from the critics as well viewers. Along with her, the entire cast including Saurabh Shukla, Mukesh Tiwari, Rajesh Tailang and upcoming actors like Ankur Nayyar, Rohan Rishi and Lehra Khan, all of them gave marvelous performances in the show.
There are lots of twists and turns in the story that will keep you stuck to your seats. The series has it all which could make a show engaging and keep on the edge. If your haven’t yet watched the 9- episode show, enjoy it on Disney+Hotstar, where it is also available in dubbed Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi and Bengali versions along with Hindi version.
Will there be Dahan Season 2?
As the series has been released and people are really liking it, one question that is coming on everyone’s mind is whether the series will return with a second season or not. Well, as of now, the makers haven’t yet given any confirmation about it.
However, it doesn’t mean that it will not be renewed but the thing is that sometime, the makers take it a bit long ot announce the renewal of the shows just to check the audiences’ response to the previous season. As we all know, the series has made it to audience’s heart, chances are really high that it will back with the Second season, probably by 2023.
