Kangana’s film has fallen flat at the box office, the film on the opening day failed to pull the crowds towards the ticket window, it earned far less than what was expected from the espionage thriller.
The trailer of the film has made a huge buzz around the release but failed to allure people to buy the tickets and further pulled them towards the cinema halls.
On the first day, it only managed to earn Rs 50 lakhs far less than what was expected, Dhaakad is said to be made on a budget with over Rs 100 Crs, and following no interest of cinephiles in the advance bookings, trade pundits had estimated that it will rake in at least in the range of Rs 4 to 5 Cr.
But the film failed to do so either, it seems the film will be pulled from the theatres in the first weekend itself unless it got implausible positive word of mouth.
Now, going by the early trends, Dhaakad will see slight growth on Saturday compared to the prior day, and could rake in around Rs 1.50 Cr**. This makes the total two days collections over Rs 2 Cr+**.
Kangana’s past films haven’t been successful at the box office like Thalaivi which collected only Rs 32 lakhs on opening day, Panga which had an opening of Rs 2.5Cr+, Judgemental had the opening of Rs 4.25 Cr, if leave Manikarnika in between which was considered an average film, she has a series of flops like Simran, Rangoon, Katti Batti, I Love NY.
The film was opened with mixed to negative reviews and further failed to show any magic in advance bookings, on an opening day, 30% of the morning shows got canceled owing to no audience.
Critics bashed the script severely but praised the performance of the main leads, especially Kangana’s action sequences, and Arjun Rampal’s antagonist avatar.
