Box Office Collection Day 2
Biggies Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan already tanked at the box office and looks like Dobaaraa will also be bombed if it hasn’t shown the upward trend during the weekend. The only film that is reigning supreme this time is Tollywood’s multiple language film Karthikeya 2 which due to the audience word of mouth saw its collections grow leaps and bounds.
Going by the day 1 box office collections, Dobaaraa could become an affair of 1-2 weeks only and finish its run below the 10 crore mark. And if it happens, it will be the second flop for Taapsee this year, after Shabaash Mitthu. Day 1 see most of its earnings coming in, from the multiplex, the trend increased during the evening and night shows. If the film gets more shows and good word of mouth in the coming days, it will have a chance to break even given it is a low-budget film. As per the early trade estimates, it collects Rs 1 Cr on Day 2. The film was released on 370 screens.

Controversy
Recently, it stirred controversy when Anurag and Taapsee during an interview jokingly stated that they also want that their film to get boycotted. And now, seems like the audience has heard their call as their flick didn’t even touch the 1 crore mark.
If the trade reports are to be believed, it takes a Rs 70 Lakhs start on day 1 which is better than Kangana’s Dhaakad (Rs 55 L) and Taapsee’s own Shabaash Mitthu (Rs 40 L).
