Doctor Bakshi is an upcoming Bengali medical thriller which is directed by Saptaswa Basu, known for his work in The Oasis (2013), The Forlorn (2011) and Network (2019).
The film is a spin-off from Basu’s 2021 film Pratidwandi, which starred Saswata Banerjee, Rudranil Ghosh, Saurav Das, Saayoni Ghosh, and Maahi Kar in key roles.
Doctor Bakshi’s story is written by Basu along with Subhasish Guha, and the screenplay as well as the dialogues are penned by Arnab Bhaumik.
Doctor Bakshi Star Cast
Produced by Saptarshi Sen and Shubhadeep Bhaumik, Doctor Bakshi stars Parambrata Chattopadhyay in the titular role, known for his work in the Bengali films Bhalo Theko, Hawa, Bodol, and his Hindi debut film Kahaani alongside Vidya Balan.
Doctor Bakshi also stars Subhasree Ganguly as Mrinalini Sen, Maahi Kar as Sraddha, and Bonny Sengupta as antagonist Aditya. The film’s cast members include Prosenjit Chowdhury and Prabir Kumar Sen as the directors of photography, and Pabitra Jana as the editor.
The film’s music and background score are composed by Subhadeep Mitra and Nabarun Bose, respectively. Bhupesh Arora is serving as the executive producer on the film.

The trailer of Doctor Bakshi is out on the official YouTube channel of Sony Music India. The 2.5-minute long trailer of the mystery thriller is promising, and it has raised the curiosity of viewers regarding the movie.
Produced by SMV Studios in association with the Roll Camera Action banner, the film’s story revolves around lots of mysteries and explores the life of lead character Doctor Bakshi, who uses his medical methods to uncover some hidden secrets when a novelist gets trapped in a murder mystery.

Doctor Bakshi Release Date
The Saptaswa Basu-directed medical thriller is set to be released in January 2023. As per media sources, its makers plan to give it a theatrical release on January 20, 2023. However, the official announcement is yet to be made.
