Beating the overall collection of its prequel on the very first day in India, Doctor Strange 2 is now en route for a blockbuster opening weekend. With the over Rs 20 Cr lead for Day 1 in advances the Cumberbatch starrer raked in a whopping amount of Rs 27.50 Cr nett on opening day in all versions, India.
Though the superhero film failed to surpass the opening day collections of Holland starrer Spiderman (Rs 32.67 Cr), with the first-day figures the film became the fourth marvel outing to collect this big in India, after Endgame, Spiderman, and Infinity War.
As we know the craze for Spiderman is another level in India, as he is the most known superhero here, Strange has recently been popular that too with the ‘No Way Home’ release of which Strange was the crucial part.
Another reason for Strange’s minting this big other than the 1-mon opening of adv bookings and No Way Home, the ticket prices are being said have surged since the NWH release that is also the reason of a whopping over Rs 25 Cr opening, as it is reported that Strange has witnessed the low amount of footfalls as was expected.
Box Office Collection Day 2
Now as per the reports, Doctor Strange 2 have done decent business on day 2 and accumulated Rs 26 Cr on Saturday only Rs 2 crores less than the opening. Taking the two days’ total collections to Rs 53.50 Crs, thereby the superhero film hit the half-century on the second day itself.

Let us inform you, that Dr. Strange has collected more than Spiderman: No Way Home’s two days collections in India (around Rs 53 crores), though the latter film was released on a normal working day and had a 4-day long weekend.
The first-day occupancy of the film was in the range of 55 to 60%, and on the second day, the evening shows were houseful mostly with a total day 2 occupancy of around 52-55%. The film saw a shortfall in the mass pockets. However, Benedict starrer is expected to show growth in footfalls on Sunday.
