The critically acclaimed Marvel’s latest outing was released on May 6(Friday) and after enjoying a blockbuster first weekend at the box office worldwide, Raimi’s directorial is now heading for a strong first week.
The film has shown amazing figures as compared to its 2016 prequel Doctor Strange, in India the film also became Hollywood’s fourth highest opening weekend grosser film of all time, minting Rs 79.5 crores nett in all versions.
As per the latest report from box office India, it will hit the century in the first week itself, though it had already grossed Rs 100 crores in the first four days.
However, the Benedict Cumberbatch starrer saw a downtrend in its collection with a major drop of around 65% on Monday, still, it manages to have a phenomenal first weekend.
The downtrend is obvious as Doctor Strange is not a known superhero in India, it enjoyed the wonderful collections in the first three days owing to the one-month-long advanced bookings and the hardcore Marvel fans.
Now the overall mark from India is being expected in the range of Rs 125-130 crores for Strange 2. As per the box office India, it minted Rs 6 crore nett on Day 5(Tuesday), taking the total collections to Rs 93 crores nett in Hindi.

The film is all set to become the sixth highest grosser Hollywood flick in India after Endgame (Rs 373.22 Cr), Infinity War (Rs 227.43 Cr), Spiderman: NWH (Rs 218.41 Cr0, The Jungle Book (Rs 188 Cr) and The Lion King (Rs 158.71 Cr).
