Actor Sivakarthikeyan who gave the first hit film of the Kollywood cinema during the covid times has once again created a rampage at the box office with his coming of age comical drama Don.
Karthikeyan was last seen in the comedy thriller Doctor which was considered a huge hit and had churned out Rs 100 crores in just 25 days. And now the same is being expected from his latest outing.
Don had received an amazing response from the critics and audience alike, the comic timing, emotional scenes between father and son, and the songs of the film are said to be the backbone of the film.

Manobala Vijayabalan gave the film 3.4 out of 5 stars, he praised the direction of the debutante Cibi Chakaravarthi, performances of the key
characters, and the music by Anirudh Ravichander. The Times of India, India Today gave the film 3 stars out of 5, and India Herald gave 3.5/5 stars, they praised the film by calling it a theatre watch film.
It looks like perhaps it is the only film in recent times in Tamil cinema which got rave reviews from the critics and Tamil movie lovers alike. Advance bookings suggest an excellent opening on cards in the home market.

Talking about the BOC of the film, the trailer, critical response, and the past track record of the main leads, by the looks of it, all things are gone the film’s way.
Earlier we have estimated that the film will collect a gross total in the range of Rs 8.5 to Rs 10 Cr** for the opening day. Now the reports suggest, that it raked in Rs 9.47 Cr gross on Day 1 (Friday).

Earlier it was being expected that the action flic KGF2 which is doing amazing across all the box office, including Tamil Nadu, the film even after almost a month enjoying its dream run at the BO, could decrease the film’s collection, GF2 has acquired a similar theatres count to Don, over 180.
Now, Sivakarthikeyan starrer needs to collect over Rs 10 Cr gross in further two days to make the first weekend successful.
