Bollywood’s young and promising actor Ayushmann Khurrana starrer 2019 comedy film Dream Girl, is all set to return with its sequel titled Dream Girl 2. The former featured Nushrratt Bharucha and turned-out-to be a blockbuster success, grossing Rs. 200 crore worldwide, against an average budget of Rs. 28. crore.
As per media claims, Dream Girl 2 is likely to go on floors in August this year. Initially it was supposed to go on floors in June, however, since the movie is being shot in North India, it got messy amid the rains, so the makers delayed it to August. The pre-production work is likely to begin this month.
Dream Girl 2 Casting
As per recent buzz, Ayushmann Khurrana has been confirmed as the lead for Dream Girl 2. His recent release- Anubhav Sinha directorial despite having a big budget and a promising story couldn’t perform well at the box-office.
In the meantime, the headlines regarding the female lead of the film are creating the buzz. It is being said that TV actress Tejasswi Prakash who is ruling hearts as Pratha in Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin 6 is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Dream Girl 2.
Tejasswi’s name comes among the successful actresses of TV and her win in Bigg Boss Season 15 add more stars in the actress’s career. Post winning the controversial reality show, the actress has been offered many big projects including films.
Recent developments tell that she has auditioned for her role in Dream Girl 2 and the makers are impressed with her. She is likely to take up the projects, and if she does so, Dream Girl 2 will be the gateway of her acting debut in Bollywood.
Reportedly, the actress was earlier approached by Ekta Kapoor for Ragini MMS 2, but given the bold format of the film, she refused the offer. Later, Sunny Leone was cast for the role.
Dream Girl 2 Makers
Dream Girl was directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and it was bankrolled by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures and ALT Entertainment. Talking about Dream Girl 2, the same production houses are going to bankrolled the project, however, the director is yet to be revealed. We will wait till the confirmation regarding the cast and crew before giving new updates.
