Bollywood’s young and promising actor Ayushmann Khurrana starrer 2019 comedy film Dream Girl is all set to return with its sequel titled Dream Girl 2. The previous part featured Nushrratt Bharucha turned-out-to be a blockbuster success, grossing Rs. 200 crore worldwide, against an average budget of Rs. 28. crore.

Dream Girl 2 leads Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday started the shoot in mid 2021. Initially it was supposed to go on floors in June 2022, however, since the movie is being shot in North India, it got messy amid the rains, so the makers delayed several times now.

Ayushmann Khurrana was confirmed as the lead for Dream Girl 2 since its starting. Pre-pandemic time was good for Ayushmann, his post-pandemic releases including Anubhav Sinha directorial despite having a big budget and a promising story couldn’t perform well at the box-office, big failure of his career.

In the meantime, the headlines regarding the female lead of the film were creating the buzz. It was being said that TV actress Tejasswi Prakash who is ruling hearts as Pratha in Ekta Kapoor’s  Naagin 6 is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Dream Girl 2 but none other than Liger star Ananya Panday roped in the lead female characters for this film.

An ensemble cast of veteran actors Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Seema Pahwa, Manoj Joshi, Rajpal Yadav to make this sequel more hilarious.

Dream Girl Release Date

Ayushmann Khurrana was confident about his blockbuster film Dream Girl sequel, so the makers booked slot of Eid 2023 which was already a booked slot for Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

Later, the makers changed the decision, Dream Girl 2 got release on 7th of July 2023 theatrically but postponed again and now the new locked date is ’25th Aug 2023.

Dream Girl was directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and it was bankrolled by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures and ALT Entertainment. Talking about Dream Girl 2, the same production houses are going to bankrolled the project and the director Raaj back with his seat.
