The Hindi film industry is struggling to crack the box office formula of delivering a huge commercial success. Only a handful of films managed to survive at the box office, this year, while there are only two films that we can say the outright successes are Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and The Kashmir Files.
Now, all the eyes are on John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor starrer “Ek Villain Returns”, a spiritual sequel to the 2014 commercially successful film “Ek Villain.”It is a mutli starrer which features, John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Tara Sutaria and Disha Patani in the main lead roles.
The film is crucial for the industry and the actors themselves. As both are struggling to see a hit venture for a while. While the industry saw the biggies fail like Samrat Prithviraj and Shamshera in the past two months, actors John and Arjun are suffering from a string of flops.

Advance Bookings & Budget
The film is releasing on 29 July (Friday) in cinemas, it was recently passed with a U/A certificate by the censor board. The limited advance bookings for the flick have been opened. It is a moderate budget film, said to be made in the range of Rs 70-80 crores.
Screen Counts
John-Arjun starrer will get benefit from Shamshera’s failure at the box office as it will have no competitors, Thor 4 and Jug Jugg Jeeyo are still alive at the box office but they two are the affairs of 1 week and nearing their ending run. Following this, “Ek Villain Returns” is likely to get screens between 2500-3000 domestically.

Box Office Collection
Bollywood is suffering from a string of flops, the recent releases Hit: The first Case, Khuda Haafiz 2, Rashtrakavach OM, and Shabaash Mitthu have struggled to collect even Rs 5 Cr on their opening day. The big-ticket ” Shamshera” which was expected to collect Rs 14-16 crores, saw its opening figures a tad more than Rs 10 Cr.
Now amid this, the moderate budget film “Ek Villain Returns” looks like don’t have that much craze among the audience, and is likely to get the opening Rs 5-8 Cr range. Its box office journey will depend on the audience’s word of mouth later on.
