First Second Chance is an upcoming Indian short film directed as well as produced by filmmaker Lakshmi R. Iyer, who is known for her work in movies such as Appa (2017) and Wrong Mistake (2018). She is the founder and CEO of Streetsmart Productions, which is bankrolling the film. Ravi Kumar Tiwari is serving as the writer
Lakshmi also worked as a model but later decided to be a filmmaker and this decision makes her more excited. Interestingly, during her modeling days, she also juggled with assistant director Anand Kumar, who is known for working in films like Delhi Heights and Juggad. And, for her, it all started behind the camera which tuned out to an excellent learning medium.
First Second Chance Star Cast
The film has an ensemble cast of talented actors, some old and some newcomers. Check Out their names below:
- Veteran actor and screenwriter Ananth Mahadevan who worked in many Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, and Malayalam, is playing the male lead in the film. Baadshah, Ishq, and Dil Kya Kare are some of the acclaimed Hindi films where the actor played a crucial role.
- Actress Renuka Shahane, who is best known as the co-presenter of the Doordarshan TV show Surabhi (199
- 3-2001), is playing the female lead opposite Ananth.
- Daily soap lovers’ favorite Gopi Bahu Devoleena Bhattacharya is also playing a crucial role in the short film
- Saahil Uppal who is known for his role as Kunal Singhania in Colors TV’s “Ek Shringaar- Swabhiman” is also the part of the cast
- Nikhil Sangha of “Neerja” and “Dear Zindagi” fame has been roped in for playing a pivotal role
Technical Crew
On the technical front, the cinematography is handled by M. Ravichandran and editing and sound designing are done by Jeevan Khullar and Academy award winner Resul Pookutty, respectively. The film has music by Anand Bhaskar with vocals given by Hamsika Iyer, who had sung the songs like Raabta and Chammak Challo.

First Second Chance First Look Out
On Monday, May 2, 2022, the makers of the short film unveiled its first look which features Ananth Mahadevan, Renuka Shahane, Devoleena Bhattacharya, and Saahil Uppal. It illustrates the contrasting role of the actors with an age difference. The young actors are shown in black and white background to give a sense of the past. The poster also highlights a red rose. It seems the film is going to depict the past and present of a couple’s relationship.
