Jon Snow was actually Aegon Targaryen
Jon Snow learned that he was actually Aegon Targaryen, a prospective heir to the Iron Throne, in the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones. He was banished from Westeros in the series finale and set out with the Wildlings to leave his former life behind.
As all projects that are currently under the production or that have been announced are set before the events of the acclaimed series, a Jon Snow sequel series would be the first Game of Thrones sequel.
Appearing on August 21 is the one that is the most eagerly awaited series; it is set 200 years before Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen.
Chief Content Officer, HBO says:
Casey Bloys, HBO’s chief content officer, stated in an interview in February that he thought ‘House of the Dragon’ was a good show.
Despite being based in the world of Game of Thrones, it appears wholly original. He stated that further Game of Thrones spinoffs are being developed by the network, but added that they would only give something the go-ahead if they think it is interesting, well-executed, and tells a story that we care about.
