Gandhada Gudi marks the final film of the late actor Puneeth Rajkumar, Kannada cinema’s power star. It is all set to hit the theatres on Oct 25, it will be released in three languages Kannada, English, and Hindi.
It is a documentary drama that revolves around exploring Karnataka’s wildlife and natural beauty. It features Puneeth and Amoghavarsha JS, the latter is also the director of the movie.
Well, 2022 has been the year of Sandalwood cinema. So far, it has delivered blockbusters in the forms of KGF2, James, 777 Charlie, Vikrant Rona, and Kantara. And the fans of the Appu will expect his latest release will join the list as well.

The advance bookings for the film were opened recently and within minutes the paid premieres on Oct 27 evening were sold out, as per the reports. The trailer of the flick has gone past 1 crore views in 2 weeks. One can guess the buzz the film has created. It is expected to release in 300-350 theatres in the home market of Karnataka.

As of Thu morning, Gandhada Gudi has sold tickets worth Rs 69 Lakhs, the total ticket sales counts are approx 40000. With one day left, it is expected to touch the 1 crore mark in terms of ticket sales collections by Thu evening from the advance bookings.

Puneeth’s film will be facing a clash with the 2022 pan-India Kannada sensation Kantara, which even after almost one month’s run is wreaking havoc from all quarters, especially in Karnataka.
As per the early projection, Gandhada Gudi will take a bumper start at the box office in Karnataka given the popularity of the late actor in the home market. It is expected to collect in the range of 4-5 crores nett in the home market. Let us also inform you that Appu’s film has been tax exempted in Karnataka. It was announced by CM Bommai on Friday.

Gandhada Gudi is also known as GG, it translates as The abode of Sandalwood trees. It is directed by Amonghavarsha JS and backed by Ashwini Puneeth and Rajkumar under the banners of PRK Productions, and Mudskipper.
It is cinematographed by Pratheek Shetty and the music is given by B. Ajaneesh Loknath. The runtime of the adventure docu-drama is 1hr 37mins or 97 minutes.
