Gandhi Godse-Ek Yudh is releasing a day after Pathaan, directed by the legendary filmmaker Rajkumar Santhoshi, making comeback after a long, his last directorial was Phata Poster Nikhla Hero which was released in 2013 and was considered a commercial failure at the box office.
Now, with Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh, he is returning to the director’s chair after a gap of nine years. The film was being called “Gandhi Vs Godse” in media reports, earlier, only title creates buzz for this new Bollywood release.
Rajkumar Santoshi is known for delivering the movies like The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Andaz Apna Apna, Ghayal, Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani, etc.
Gandhi Godse-Ek Yudh Controversy
The film made the headlines in May 2022 due to the film’s crew protest against the director. As per the reports, some workers of the movie took to the streets to protest against the director with anti-Rajkumar Santoshi posters in hand.
Reports read that it happened after the director failed to pay the crew of the movie. However, the matter was solved later on after the issue reached FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees).

Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh releases in theatres on 26 January 2023 on the occasion of Republic Day. PVR Pictures took to social media to announce the release date of the movie. They wrote in the caption that the legendary filmmaker and the national award-winning director is returning with Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh on Republic Day.
The film will clash at the box office with Bollywood king Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, which is among the highly anticipated upcoming Bollywood movies of 2023. Pathaan has been released on January 25, 2023, sets new Box Office records in 2023.
Gandhi Godse-Ek Yudh Story
The movie depicts the war between two extremely opposite ideologies of Mohandas Gandhi and Nathuram Godse. Reportedly, Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh is set between 1947 and 1948 and is based on Asghar Wajahat’s play which centers around communal issues, cultural assimilation, democracy, and development.

It is a PVR Pictures release produced by Manila Santoshi under the banner Santoshi Productions LLP. Makers dropped an over 10-min video to announce the release date of the movie. The music of the film is composed by the Grammy and Oscar award-winning music composer A.R. Rahman. The star cast and much of the crew are still under wraps.
