Alia Bhatt’s long-awaited film Gangubai Kathiawadi finally hits the cinema halls, it is a biographical crime drama directed by the five times national film awardee filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
It revolves around the life of Ganga Harjivandas who later becomes the madame of a bordello, born in a rich family Ganga founds love in her father’s accountant Ramnik Lal, she further whisked away with him to Mumbai.
Later her life turned upside down when she got to know that her husband has sold her to a brothel. The journey of her becoming the powerful bordello madame Gangubai Kathiawadi forms the rest of history.
However, the film is riding high since its premiere at the Berlin Intnl Film Festival, the film got rave reviews from the critics, following this, SLB directorial made much hype before the theatrical release, as the film has already got positive reviews, terrific performances of Alia and Vijay Raaz’s and the track record of Bhansali’s successful ventures. These are the factor that can pull the audience to the cinema halls.
Gangubai Kathiawadi has been released on 25 February and as per reports, it has become the latest victim of piracy sites. Yes, the film has been leaked online on notorious sites like Filmyzilla, Tamilrockers, Telegram, etc.
We will request to the viewers do not fall prey to these sites, as it can halt the films business to some extent. Watching films from pirated sites is also considered illegal. As per the early trends, the film has minted a decent amount of Rs 8-10 cr net which can be considered good given the half occupancy in which many theatres are running especially the home market Maharashtra which generates a major part of the return on investment of the film.

Before the theatrical release, the film also got little embroiled in little controversy when Queen actress Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram recently and slammed the film by making a remark of 200 cr film will be burnt to ashes. Further, Alia responds to her comment in a bold way by quoting Bhagwad Geeta, she said, “Lord Krishna had said in the Gita that inaction is in action. That’s all I want to say”
