The highly anticipated Alia Bhatt starrer biographical drama film Gangubai Kathiawadi after shaking the box office is now all set to hit the digital platform Netflix. The film is loosely inspired by Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai.
The film centers around Ganga Harjivandas (Portrayed by Alia), who was born in a wealthy family and further run away with her father’s accountant Ramnik Lal in order to get married.
Later the story is tweaked when she feels traumatized when finds out that she is sold to a brothel by her husband. The film showcases the journey of how Ganga becomes Gangubai Kathiawadi, a madame of a brothel.
Gangubai Kathiawadi Netflix Release Date
Talking about the digital debut of the film, it was earlier being said that the digital partner of Gangubai Kathiawadi, Netflix would have the premiere after a 4-week theatrical run but later they pushed back the premiere date to an 8-week gap owing to the successful run of the film in theatres.
Thereby, Gangubai Kathiawadi will now have its OTT premiere on 26 April 2022 on the platform instead of the last week of March.

Gangubai Kathiawadi Theatrical Release
After pushing back the release date three times owing to various reasons, makers in Jan 2022 announced that the film would hit the theatres on 25 February 2022. It was released in two Indian languages Hindi and Telugu and opened with positive reviews, the film collected around Rs 200 Cr gross worldwide in its 2-month theatrical run.

The trailer has already made much hype let’s see if this craze turns towards the cinema halls or not.
