Over the few years, we have witnessed an interesting craze for the biopic and movies inspired by real life incidents among the Indian filmmakers as well as in the Indian audience.
The cinema has become so vast and versatile that apart from Masala movies, people also show their interest in the important events of history. For example, Akshay Kumar starrer Airlift, which was based on the real life story of a Kuwait-based Malayali businessman and his role in rescuing the Indian at the time of Iraqi invasion in Kuwait in 1990.
Soon we are going to witness another film that will also be based on real life events that happened during the Afghan crisis and the film is titled Garud.
Garud Cast & Crew
Well Known International director Rotem Shamir, who is known for globally acclaimed films like Fauda, Hostages and Hit and Run. The film will make his directorial debut in the Indian cinema.

The film will be jointly produced by Ajay Kapoor Production and Vikrant Studio. Having backed films like Parmanu, Romeo Akbar Walter as well as being associated with Baby and Airlift, Ajay is returning to the same zone with Garud. He is collaborating with Subhash Kale after working together in Roy and All Is Well.
The story and concept of the film is decided by Subhash Kale while the screenplay as well as dialogues are penned by Nidhi Singh Dharma. KGF and KFG 2 music composer Ravi Basrur is onboard to score the music while Sanjay Sankla is taking care of the editing work. The star cast of the big budget film is yet to be finalized.

Garud Release Date
Along with the film’s announcement, the makers also release the poster featuring the plane of Indian Air Force, flying high above a bombed city. 15th August, 2022, the Indian Independence Day was finalized as the release date of the patriotic film.

About the Film
Garud is inspired by some real events and it will present a fictionalized depiction of the rescue mission in Afghanistan, based on the story of an officer in the Garud Commando Force, which is a special forces unit of the Indian Air Force.
