Bollywood’s promising actor Abhishek Bachchan is all set to come up with his upcoming sports drama film Ghoomer. Directed by advertising maverick and director R. Balki known for directing acclaimed films like Cheeni Kum (2007), Pan (2009) and Pad Man (2018).
The film is bankrolled by director R. Balki and Guari Shinde’s Hope Production and it is being shot by cinematographer Vishal Sinha.
Ghoomer Star Cast
While Abhishek Bachchan is playing the male lead as a cricket coach, the sports drama features actress Saiyami Kher as a cricketer. The actress had earlier worked in Hindi movies like Mirzya, Choked and Unpaused, along with that she also appeared in Marathi film Mauli and Telugu film Ray and Wild Dog.
The actress also played a spy in Kay Kay Menon starrer action espionage thriller series Special OPS. Ghoomer marks the second collaboration between Abhishek and Saiyami after Amazon Prime Video’s web- series Breathe: Into the Shadows. Along with the leading stars, the film also features Angad Bedi and veteran actor Shabana Azmi in crucial roles.
Ghoomer First Look
The makers of the film have reached its first look which features Abhishek and Saiyami looking down and having an intense expression on their face. The poster is being liked by netizens and is extensively being shared on social media.
Saiyami also shared the poster from both her Insta and Twitter handles. Sharing her excitement over playing a cricketer the actress wrote on Insta tha all her life she dreamt of becoming a professional cricketer and Goomer has given her that opportunity. “As they say, when you really want something, the universe conspires to make it happen. This project taught me that”, she added.
She further said that playing a cricketer is one of the challenging roles so far both emotionally and physically. Interestingly, Saiyami has even played cricket in her early days and made it to the National team selection but opted for badminton state championship instead.

Ghoomer Release Date
Although there is no official announcement regarding the release date of the film, it is expected to be released in late 2022. The film’s shoot started on February 5, 2022, which co- incidentely was her birthday date.
The actor announced on social media that the shoot had begun and called the day as a working birthday. Have a look:

The shoot had been halted for a brief period due to COVID-19 related protocols, and has commenced at locations in Panchagni and Pune.
