Godfather has now entered the second week, it was released on Oct 5th to positive reviews from the critics. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film Lucifer and stars Boss actor Chiranjeevi in the titular role.
It is now inching closer to grossing 100 crores at the box office. The worldwide collections of Chiranjeevi starrer currently stand at Rs 97.80 crores. It has recovered around 54 crores shares so far and needs to hold very strong in the coming day to break even.

Box Office Collection Day 8
It minted 57.15 Lacs from the advance ticket sales for Wed. It collects Rs 1.50 crore on Wed to take the total domestic collections to Rs 66.36 crores, as per the trade reports.
It seems difficult for Chiranjeevi starrer to achieve the break-even target as it has started showing a decline in earnings in the home market (AP-TG), which is the major contributor. The film is stable in the Hindi market but again on the lower side, however, the Hindi biz will be considered a bonus as it was released in Hindi without promotion and marketing.
Godfather-Hindi Box Office (Day-Wise): Day 1 (Rs 1.05 Cr), Day 2 (Rs 0.75 Cr), Day 3 (Rs 0.9 Cr), Day 4 (Rs 1.35 Cr), Day 5 (Rs 1.55 Cr), Day 6 (Rs 0.65 Cr), Day 7 (Rs 0.57 Cr), Day 8 (Rs 0.45 Cr)**
The next target for the film will be to cross the 70 Cr nett domestic mark then will end its run with a 75-80 Cr lifetime.

Is Godfather in Profit?
Well, we can’t say about its buyers as of now, but the makers of the movie look like are surely in huge profits. As they have already achieved the breakeven from the theatrical rights.
And reportedly, the digital rights of the flick were acquired by Netflix (Telugu+Hindi) at a cost of 57 crores. Now, even if we don’t include satellite rights and music rights, it is a 58 crore profit. FYI, the budget of Godfather is 90 crores.
**: Early estimates, final reports are awaited.
