Megastar Chiranjeevi’s film “Godfather” is having a dismal run at the box office after a decent extended opening weekend. It is a remake of the Malayalam film Lucifer starring Mohan Lal.
Along with Chiranjeevi, it features lady superstar Nayanthara in a key role while Bollywood star Salman Khan has a cameo role in the flick. It was released on the occasion of Dussehra to a great start at the box office.

Box Office Collection Day 9
Going by the trade report, it was another hard day in terms of collections for the Boss starrer. It witnessed 11.24%, 12.67%, 15.38% and 14.72% occupancy rates during the morning, afternoon, evening and night shows. It had overall 13.50% Telugu occupancy across all the shows.
As per the trade estimations, it collects 1-1.2 crores on Day 9 to take the total nett domestic collections of Godfather to 67-67.5 crores. It is trailing far behind the small film Kantara in daily earnings now, which is made on less than one-fourth budget of Godfather.
It seems like the remake factor has played the spoilsport at the BO performance of Godfather, the same was the case with Hrithik starrer Vikram Vedha, which has been rejected by the Hindi audience at the box office within two weeks.
