Prithviraj Sukumaran’s, “Gold” is a crime comedy, the film was out in cinemas on Dec 1. It was released in Malayalam and Telugu simultaneously. It had created a good pre-release buzz and had taken a humungous start at the box office.
The film tanked on the second day of the release with the earnings dropping by around 67% on Fri. It is helmed by Alphonse Puthren of Premam fame, the director hadn’t faced a flop yet but seems like, “Gold” will mark his first flop.

Box Office Collection Day 7
Going by the reports, Gold stays stable on Wed as well, however, on the lower side. As per the trade estimations, Gold clocked 20L on Wed (day 7) taking the total first week earnings of the movie to 5.46 crores nett domestically.

Prithviraj’s film saw over 5 crores in its first extended weekend, It witnessed a further major drop of around 67% on the first Monday which consolidated the flop verdict of the film. It is stable on the weekdays however on the lower side.

On the online ticket bookings website BookMyShow, Gold is rated 5.2 out of 10 with 5.2k reviews. It was released on Dec 1 in Malayalam and Tamil. The film was issued U certificate by the censor board with an approved runtime of 2hr 45min or 165minutes.
