Directed by Alphonse Puthren, the Malayalam comedy thriller Gold was released in theatres on December 1, 2022. It was the first Malayalam film that released in both India and Iceland, along with India.
The film, starring Mollywood actor Prithviraj Sukumaran and lady superstar Nayanthara in the lead roles, also released in Tamil, on December 2, 2022, a day after its original release.
It is the fourth directorial venture of Alphonse Puthren after Neram, Aviyal, and the blockbuster film Premam, which emerged as a superhit in both Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Gold Malayalam OTT Release Date
The post-theatrical OTT rights of Gold acquired by Amazon Prime Video, now streaming on the platform from 29th of December 2022. Prithviraj and Nayanthara’s this film received mixed reviews and below average Box Office response.
Generally, a movie takes around 30 to 40 days before coming to OTT, so in this way, expected the film to be available on OTT in mid January 2023 but available on digital platform earlier.

The film is a decent comedy entertainer, and it has everything that makes it a Puthren film. With a simple plot, the film’s first half is amazing, whereas the second half is average. Prithiviraj as Danger and Nayanathara as Sumangali Unnikrishnan completely nailed it.
Talking about the collection, the film has already done a record pre-release business, grossing Rs. 50 crore from advance bookings, OTT, satellite rights, and overseas rights.
